Potomac Boxer Club
Membership Information
Membership
Individual, Family, and Associate memberships are offered. Individual and family membership is open to those over 18 in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the mission of this Club. The applicant, or member of his or her immediate family must, at the time of joining, own a Boxer that is registered or is eligible for registration with the American Kennel Club. The applicant(s) must have attended two general business meetings as a guest. If joining as a family, both spouses must attend two meetings each. Associate members are for those interested in promoting the breed, but do not own a Boxer, or are under the age of 18, and are in good standing with the American Kennel Club. Associate members may not vote or be a member of the Board of Directors.

Each applicant for membership must complete a registration form agreeing to abide by the Club's Constitution and Bylaws and the rules of the American Kennel Club as well as applicable portions of the American Boxer Club. A registration fee must accompany the application. Applicants need to be sponsored by a current member of the Club, in good standing. Members of the Club review the application at the next meeting to approve the application. The prospective member(s) should attend this meeting and be prepared to pay the membership fees.

Special Assessments
The Club may solicit additional funds for special equipment, functions, or events. Recently, the Potomac Boxer Club, as a service to its members and others, purchased a Holter monitor, the diagnostic tool used to detect the electrical conduction disease of the heart known as boxer cardiomyopthy in dogs and bitches considered for breeding. This monitor will be loaned to Club members at no charge and to non-members for a fee.
